Don't worry, E IS talking about Gat along with triona :D .

It is genuinely great that E takes the time to acknowledge the work of us "regulars" though. For that E has my gratitude and rerspect.

Yeah Gat's great, but what has she done lately? :)

(Except for handling the tumblr account, which I think is bringing in new recruits to the cause. Thanks for that.)

I was talking about everybody who cared enough to participate. You can be sure that every single post contributes to this universe, directly or indirectly. But I'm especially grateful to the prolific fellow sickos and sickettes among you.

13. We noted last time that you have more female fans than most BDSM artists, and your forum reflects that strongly. Some of your most prolific posters are women and a few have even made it into your comics as characters. If anything, women are more strongly attracted to your work than ever. Why so?
In the absence of a reliable a scientific study, I will have to take your word for it. Anecdotal evidence indicates that you are at least partially right, I do have an active female following. They are all intelligent and kinky, the perfect kind. Many are talented writers too. Some of the best fan stories posted at the forum are by female readers. I think it is the best form of flattery when somebody creates something that is inspired by your own creation, so I try to return the favor by inserting references to the prolific contributors in my comics. Why female fans like my stories, I can only guess. Women are more interested in emotional elements in the stories and I do like to keep that side strong in my work.

This makes sense but is it really the case for female E fans here? I generally agree with this statement and assume it is true for most females that emotional elements in the comic is important. But I also see on the forum that the female fans here also enjoy the physical elements as much as the males like me.
My question to female members here, would you still like Erenish comics even without the dialogue or without the female point of view stories?

I am not female, so I cannot directly answer this question but, from conversations with female members - I do sense that, while women have a greater propensity for emotional intelligence and responding on that level, some at least do just enjoy the world and the possibilities it sets out (as a fantasy of course!)

Re-reading this interview I have just picked up on this tit-bit which sheds "light" onto E's tastes in women (apparently) We learn that, E's favourite women are:-
fair haired :maggie: or dark haired :sherry:
Their intelligence level should be remarkably clever :maggie: or totally unremarkable :sherry:.
They are shy, quiet, obedient and deferential to a fault :maggie: and at the same time feisty, passionate, often contemptuous, and have a hard time keeping a diplomatic tongue in their head :sherry:
They love their man with an all consuming passion :maggie: and see him as the least painful option of a whole pile of nightmares :sherry:
:
So do we actually learn anything from this? Not a lot only that E is clearly in love with womankind generally, either that or. . . :)

Thanks everybody. Lots of interesting responses. I only wish people still wrote letters so we could have more for our reader mail section in the magazine. In fact, if anyone wants to send me a comment for publication regarding any of E's work, they're welcome to do so through the forum.

I enjoyed the interview, as I knew I would, for E's erudite, witty and frequently surprising answers. I liked the resulting feature so much, we picked it up from Taboo Illustrated and ran it in Taboo March 2013, which is already out on the stands (publications have calendars that don't often coincide with those used by the rest of the world, a mystery that eludes me after 14 years as an editor). It, too, can be had directly from LFP. Taboo is mainly a photographic magazine full of wonderfully nasty, kinky material featuring models who would be right at home in E's comics. In fact, I'd say the keen-eyed observer would spot some familiar situations in our photo pictorials.

There's a lot of overlap between the two magazines, so periodically if I think a T.I. feature will appeal to Taboo's readership, I'll place it there as well. In this case, it was an easy decision. And our art director thought the accompanying images were"terrific." She's very critical of her own work and everyone else's, so that's high praise of a very unusual order.

Okay, so what I want to know is when do I get to be a bad-guy in a comic myself? I think I have the looks for the part, though I think Nina would agree I'm a much nicer master than most of those who show up in E's comics. However, like Jessica Rabbit, I don't have to be bad to be drawn that way.

I'm glad that both Dofantasy and Taboo have women working in non-modeling jobs in production (kink.com does as well, I believe). If that fact became more widely known, it will greatly help our reputation in the general public I think. I was reading a book by a FBI profiler who described BDSM enthusiasts as "strange but non-criminal". That's the closest thing we get to a compliment from much of society, especially in regard to maledom.

What sort of bad guy do you see yourself as? Head of a corporation or farm, Smuggler, Private Master?

Apropos of nothing am I right in thinking that Nina and you once appeared in a Fernando comic in a similar setting? I won't name it because it would only provoke forum rage :D

Let's see now - corrupt media mogul sounds right. Of course, I'd be just as happy doing nasty things as a trainer for the BFA if I didn't have to do the job in real life. For that matter, I could work as a doctor at The Clinic. My parents would have appreciated having a doctor in the family.

And yes, Nina and I did appear in a cameo in another DOF comic, but just as onlookers.

Actual bad guys have more fun.

Great interview!

Finally back after an unavoidably long absence and now I've got a painful (but enjoyably so) amount of posts to get through.

This is nice to hear. I've always heard the opposite, though granted, I've always heard it from THE SHIELD. Any time Dutch caught some sicko serial killer, there was always a line to the effect of, "We searched his computer and found the standard bondage/dominance porn collection." It always made me think, "Are these assholes really my peers!?"

I love when Fernando slips in a cameo. Did anyone else notice Michael Bay and Megan Fox in TOTAL CONTROL? I was actually a little bummed when he called the guy "Mr. Bay" because I thought Fernando nailed their likenesses and that the joke was far better when it wasn't spelled out so blatantly. Leave the joke between the lines so that those who get it are allowed to feel especially clever.

I wonder if bank robbers have pictures of opened safes on their computers.

It's not hard to see how people that's is not part of the "scene", who never have grasped the idea of giving and receiving control/power as opposed to taking control/power [over an other human being], have a hard time distinguish between the two. From afar, the actions must look identical.

And some of the fantasies exposed by subs on the internet are so ingenious evil and brutal that even the worst real life assholes have a hard time to match-up. An example? How about the fantasy of being skewered, pussy to mouth, barbecued alive and finally eaten by thy husband and friends as a birthday gift... Still to see that on Fox news.

No lie. Ever seen comics by Dolcett? He's obsessed with skewering and cooking women. My sex-psyche's got a pretty tough suit of armor built around it (Mithril cuirass + Orcish gauntlets, levels 18 & 20 respectively), but Dolcett's art makes even me a little squeamish.

Didnt we have a topic on dolcett? Or was it in the old forum? I like dolcetts world a lot, it is wonderfully surreal. :) It is about surrender, not just cannibalism or g*re.

This I completely agree with. The gynophagia stuff is just a metaphor for ultimate surrender.

Gynophagia - great word. I can easily think of a more benign usage for it.
