We had a topic on this at the old forum. I think it is necessary to revive it here.

because I just found out about this gem:

Scheiden/Fokker is actually German/dutch for "pussies breeder"

The obvious one is from the Clinic

Van Kroogendrop means "Cold and dry" in Dutch. Is anybody else beginning to see a theme here? No? Must be just me then

in that case I repost my list of goddesses here.

this is from the Breed

Diana - goddess of the hunt
Aurora - goddess of the dawn
Adrestia - goddess of war
Freya - goddess of the death and war
Minerva - goddess of wisdom, poetry, magic.

and as Dr White mentioned, the Ankh symbol in the comic is relate to goddess Isis

and looking at the wikipedia page on Isis, that is not a coincidence
Quote:
She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, and the downtrodden

That's Van Koudendroog actually, but your version sounds funnier. Maybe she is the lost Bonnyhop :P

And are you insinuating E is German or Dutch? Mmmh, why not?

I'm sure we will not get a confirmation anyway.

We have million of them.

Hannah Cox, Chrissy Cummings are the most obvious.

Sweetie? Not sure it counts as a pun. Pretty straightforward.

Nathalie Levrette- a tricky one but thanks to Dr White (checked old forum) we know that it is a good one.

Also from the old forum I posted the dog breeds from The Kennels.

Golden reliever
Southern sluttytail
asian cumpoodle
alpine kocksukker
chocolate cockhound
cockwhore
dalmatian fuckhound

and Kimberly Muttson, of course!!!

Ah, Kimberly MUTT-son! I'm so careless

But I did my homework on Karma after I read it.

Zalupatsin - I remember that this is from a Russian word that has something to do with the head of the cock. (?)

Sukoneryaska - from Russian words for slut or bitch

zhulikova - (anna's fake name in karma means con artist

I also looked for Venger (Holly) - probably means avenger, but if you think Dutch, it can mean "catcher". She was a slavecop so both work.

The dutch angle for Venger seems likely to me after I learned that Lea Merrie is "mare" in dutch. There is also the Van Kudendroog girl.

Latest one is "official". E explains the pun in Melanie Compter in another thread.

Not necessarily, but you can say that. Originally her surname was going to be Ronin (as I mentioned elsewhere). Not because she was Japanese, but because she had no master. When I decided to make her an accountant, I changed it to Compter, Latin-via-French for "to count". I like it because It is also very close to her new servonym, Cumpster...

Original Latin word also has the meaning "to tell a story", so it is perfect for Melanie who likes to talk and tell stories... :)

Aiko:
The meaning varies depending on the kanji used to write it. Several written forms include:

愛子 — Love and child, child of love
藍子 — Indigo and child, tinctoria child. Its meaning, "child who is superior to parents", one Japanese proverb, 'Blue dye is made from tinctoria'.
愛幸 — Love fortune.

Yariman:
Japanese for 'slut'. Most likely derived from yaru, to give, and manko, the vagina.Very loosely translated, it's a 'generous pussy.'

(Erenisch does it again!)

There is no special formula... Whatever comes to mind when I'm writing the plot.

I clearly remember where I got "Stevenson" from. When I was writing BG1, an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was on TV. It was the name of the dorm she was staying: Stevenson Hall. I thought it was common enough and took it.

So you named the lead family of female oppression after a show some feel was a highpoint of female representation in Hollywood?

Isn't that Ironic?
