Erenisch said that E is a fan of Whedon so I think it is almost certain that when Cathy tells Anna in “Karma” that “They killed them Anna! They killed them with a sword” that this is a direct reference to a quote from Mr. Universe (or rather his robotic sex doll) from the movie “Serenity”. It is almost word for word.

If that is the Spivak pronoun "E", it is fine with me. :)

(In my case, I guess it is better to use the capitalized E for for name and the lower-case e for the pronoun.)

Exactly. Even though I don't like the character Mr. Universe appearing out of nowhere as a deus ex machina plot device, I'm a huge fan of the series and the movie.

You noticed that too? I was very disappointed.

Me too. I just re-watched the series again last month.

(I don't re-watch the movie because of Wash)

I happily watch both the series and the film because of Summer Glau.

Really the whole cast was good.

So in the E verse who is our straight laced Simon?

If we are able to pick someone of either gender, I'd say Tawnie is the one who is most interested in following the rules of her Master.

Are you suggesting that "colluding with rebel underground, faking government papers, infiltrating a secret military facility, kidnapping a superweapon, and joining notorious smugglers..." is following the rules? :)

I don't think there is a Simon in my comics so far. I'm not particularly fond of that character anyway. Constant whiner!

Actually I liked Simon, I just think he was burned with responsibility.
So by your definition our Simon would be Leggybitch?

I guess there is similarity, though Leggybitch enjoys causing pain in people she dislikes and has a very dominant personality around other females, which isn't exactly Simon's personality. We might not be able to find an exact match but we could find similarities in different characters.

Ha! They do sound similar if you focus on their deeds. :D

But for Leggybitch, I think Zoe would be the closest Firefly character.

I've always seen Simon as more of a Dr. Frankie Steinn. :P

The farm guy Molokoff in the dairy, is he a reference to the clockwork orange moloko bar?

I didn't have the Clockwork Orange in mind when I used the word. To be honest I don't like Kubrick's version at all. I have read the novel way too early, in my early teens. The movie looked nothing like what I imagined, so that's probably why I hated it.

Moloko is the Russian word for milk, simple as that.

speaking of numbers, in the Office, Holly's room is A113. It is a common easter egg in animation.

I'm pretty sure the PETW sign at the end of the end of the Dairy refers to a certain animal rights organization.

Not so sure about this one, but the fast food chain Bessy Boobs can be a reference to Betty Boop?
