I think any comic is a good start, except the ones that came before BG1. They are good too, but read them after you read most of the newer ones.

Another good idea is to look at the members list where people list their favorite comics. There are are many favorites listed, because whatever E makes is great and more importantly each one is different and original.

Here is the list of top 5 for each of us. Please keep in mind that they may not all be jump on friendly

I recommend you start with Birthday Gift 7 then go forward from there to the rest of the BG series. After that you can backtrack and read the earlier ones.

This is not to re-open debate on which order to read the comics in, just to note, as in my post on BG7, here again the preference for 7 over 6. No-one in this thread, or in the top 5 thread where 7 gets a lot of love, mentions 6, yet for me it took things to another level after 1-5, and I prefer it to 7. Just finding this curious!

BG6 has some elements that are darker, so I assume many of the readers were put off by the unusually violent stuff on the background. The club scene was an elusive homage to Dolcett's Club X, and that's why it got uncharacteristically darker so suddenly. Also, the episode does not move Maggie's arc a lot, and it has only a slight effect on Sherry's. Hence it probably had little emotional impact on the readers.

I feel I have to rock the boat a little and not give the BG series a call out as starting point to read. Not that they are not fun, but they are such a big saga of the universe. Like Rufus and Flav I would suggest one of the smaller story lines to begin with.

However, my personal choice would be the Sluts in Training comics :kim: . Now this is not because my favourite character is in one and I got a cameo in another. It is because while each is a standalone story there are 3 of them if you get a taste for them. They show E’s art style both old and new. And there is a degree of humour to them in pairs, which is always fun.

I hope this is of help, mj.skywalker. :)

Thank you for the insights. It's interesting to learn about that aspect of Cumbath Club, I didn't know that, but certainly yes, I found an upping of the intensity in 6, which I read as you showing the females a little more of the crazy world they were now in, which the school/home hadn't revealed quite to that extent.
