I have decided to create a poll that is completely unrelated to Erenisch, comics, or porn.

You can choose two.

(There are only fifteen choices allowed on a poll and Mr. Carpenter is listed as a Director on eighteen movies, so I arbitrarily cut some out...)

The movies I left off the list are;

Prince of Darkness (1987)
Memoirs of an Invisible Man (1992)
Village of the Damned (1995)

(I guess write in votes are allowed...)

Of course my second vote had to be for Memoirs of an Invisible Man.

Damn you!

You just had to leave out the most badass Physics Professor ever shown on the silver screen. You will not be forgiven. (Prince of Darkness)

Are you passive-aggressively insinuating that I've been lazy and unproductive lately? :)

If he's not insinuating it then I say it and extend it to those awesome authors of ours who haven't posted an update in what feels like forever. (completely missing Thones posts).

Give us some meat to chew on!

I voted Escapre from New York and the truly inspired Big trouble in Little China.

What can we learn from this? I really think he works well with Kurt Russel

Not at all, I was just thinking about my favorite Carpenter films and wanted a consensus. 8-)

Yes! 'The Thing' is also a great film.

(but the theory kinda falls apart with 'Escape from L.A.')

I voted for The Thing, and for Escape from New York cause I don't care about your god damned president.

The Kurt Russell theory does have natural limits based on the issues in film. For reference, see Sky High. Had like 5 talents to elevate that thing.

And I think it's nice to talk about things other than male-centered bdsm every so often here.

I will give you the fact that Escape from L.A was atravesty Hell, that film sucked more than Paul Stevenson's harem of sexretaries, but in the 80's the Carpenter/Russlel team kicked ass!Q ( i just wanted to return a hint of male centred bdsm to this utterly vanilla chat)

Always vote your conscience.

Even though 'The Thing' would be my third choice, if I had allowed third choices, I am a bit put out that 'Big Trouble...' isn't getting more votes.

(I kind of expected 'Escape from New York' to be the runaway favorite...) 8-)

I voted exactly like that, Doc.

One of the few things I didn't hate about the 80s: presidents were not portrayed as alien punching terrorist ass kicking superheroes back then.

I voted for Big Trouble... Love how Kurt Russell misses on all the action though he is suppose to be the hero.

Also voted for They Live... I like the part of the subliminal messages and it holds one of the best lines in movie history.

"I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm ALL out of bubble gum."
